Yellow And Black Beauty

How about THIS Yellow And Black Beauty? A 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Premium Fastback 'Cuda 383, WITH the infamous "Recall" wheels. Rarer than 4-speed '71 Hemi'Cuda convertibles now, and with these wheels (of which VERY few exist!) I could EASILY imagine this gem fetching a good $30k ABOVE the price of the aforementioned '71, especially at a Barrett-Jackson event.

Those wheels, custom manufactured for the Plymouth Division, were the first of their kind. The big problems were twofold. First, they tended to loosen prematurely. Secondly, when the lug nuts were tightened, the wheels cracked in the centers. "Ma Mopar" went into a frenzy, recalling AND destroying nearly EVERY one of those wheels! There are but a scant few on this planet. Wheels of the customer's choice were offered in substitute. Safety first, and customers first, eh?

My dear, departed Dad's last new car was a beautiful B-5 Blue Barracuda Fastback with a white factory racing stripe. Since his did not have the wheels mentioned above, I thought it would be good to note that there were absolutely NO RECALLS on the '67 through '69 'Cudas (save the ones shipped with those wheels)!!! In the early 80s, however, there were some technical service bulletins (NOT recalls!) on all Mopars of that vintage equipped with the light duty 904 TorqueFlite automatic transmissions. For a minor adjustment, at that!

Anyway, after the "artwork" of the previous ad AND the shot of the destroyed 340 Formula-S fastback, this glamour shot of a big-block 'Cuda seemed to be the eye-candy necessary to prevent bad dreams and such. Thanks for stopping by!

When ART imitates LIFE.......

When ART, as seen in this vintage 1969 'Cuda advertisement...

Mimics LIFE...

The Beauty Of B-5 Blue Metallic 'Cudas

What a wonderful shot of this 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S, in the famous B-5 Blue Metallic Paint. Known by several names, such as Electric Blue Fire Mist, true Mopar people know exactly what you're referring to when you say the magical code for Beautiful Blue on Barracudas... "B-5"!!!

S & M

S & M (Sox & Martin) = Pain and suffering to competitors!

Where it all began...

Because Barracudas NEVER miss breakfast!
